Bohermeen Celtic were at Derek Brady Park to play Square Utd on a cold fresh Sunday morning. The pitch was freshly cut and looked in great condition for a match that meant a Bohermeen win would secure promotion to the Premier league for next season . The home side started brightly with some excellent passing and possession football from the midfield of Martin Keane, Evan Moyles, Kian Fitzsimons, Nathan Casserly and Sean Keoghan. With 5 minutes on the clock a through ball from Kian Fitzsimons found Dara Loughran and after beating the last defender he cooly rolled the ball passed the Square keeper to make it 1-0. Square were pushing for an equaliser and created plenty of chances but the Bohermeen defence of Eoin Fitzsimons, Cian Loughran and Alejo Rogers were rock solid and dealt with everything Square could throw at them. Jack Fitzgerald was called into action and made a fantastic 1 on 1 save to keep the score line 1-0 at half-time. 


2nd half started and it was clear Square Utd were pushing to get something from this game but the constant threat from strikers Dara Loughran and Eoin Larkin kept the Square defence busy and when Dara   intercepted a kick out he was unlucky not to get a 2nd goal  as the defender got a block in. Eoin Larkin was superb in holding up the ball and making some excellent runs causing all sorts of problems for the Square Utd  defence. Aaron Farnan was introduced to midfield and played a big roll in stopping many of Square Utd's attacks. Both teams created plenty of chances but the final whistle came and it was a hard fought 1-0 win for the home side. 2nd place  in division 1 and promotion secured to the Premier league nothing more than what this super squad of players deserved after all their hard work throughout the season.
